FAQs

Common questions

A few things people often ask before getting in touch. If your question isn't here, just ask, there's no such thing as a silly question.

Do I need a referral to see you?+

No. You can contact me directly. You don't need a GP referral to enquire with me.

What happens in the first session?+

We talk. You don't need to have everything figured out or know what to say. The first session is a chance to see whether working together feels right, and to ask any questions you have.

Is everything confidential?+

Yes. What you share stays between us, with limited legal exceptions that I'll explain clearly in our first session. Your privacy is protected under the Health Information Privacy Code, and I take reasonable steps to keep your information secure.

Do you offer online sessions?+

Yes. Telehealth is available for clients anywhere in New Zealand.

I'm not sure if ACC Sensitive Claims is for me. How does that work?+

ACC Sensitive Claims funding is available for people who have experienced sexual harm and are experiencing related mental health impacts. You don't need to have an accepted claim already, we can talk through whether you're eligible and what the process involves. There's no pressure to have it figured out before you get in touch.

Where are you based?+

I see clients in person in Central Auckland and online across Aotearoa.
